the heart behind sweeter skin
Why skin?
Being an esthetician can be as healing for me as it can be for my clients. I originally chose to be an esthetician as a means to an end, primarily because I was seeking a stable career and way to earn a living. However, I continued my journey in this profession because pouring into other women is not only a privilege but also the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done. The connections I build with my clients and the transformations I witness in their confidence and self-esteem make all the hard work worth it. I find immense joy in nurturing their beauty, both inside and out, and helping them feel empowered in their own skin.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you are new to esthetics you must have a lot of questions. For your convenience, we have gathered the most frequently asked questions about our studio and the facial and/or sugaring experience.
Custom Facials
What facial should I book if I don't know what my skin needs?
The Custom Facial. You don't need to diagnose your own skin or figure out which treatment sounds right before you get here—that's my job. We'll talk about your skin, current routine and goals, I'll assess what I'm seeing, and your treatment will be customized from there.
Can I get a facial if I have acne or sensitive skin?
Yes. In fact, having reactive or acne-prone skin is exactly why customization matters.Your facial can be adjusted for breakouts, congestion, sensitivity, dehydration or a compromised skin barrier. The goal isn't to throw every active ingredient possible at your face and hope for the best. We'll treat what your skin actually needs while respecting its barrier.
Do you perform extractions?
Yes—when they're appropriate.I perform extractions intentionally rather than treating every pore like it personally offended me. If something isn't ready to be safely extracted, we're leaving her alone.
Will I break out after my facial?
You may occasionally notice a temporary breakout afterward, particularly if your skin was already congested, but a dramatic “purge” isn't something I consider proof that a facial worked. My approach is results-driven without unnecessarily overwhelming your skin.
Can I add dermaplaning to my facial?
Yes. Dermaplaning is available as an add-on to your Custom Facial and removes surface-level dead skin buildup and vellus hair (peach fuzz) for an extra-smooth, bright finish. It isn't appropriate for every skin condition, so we'll make sure it's a good fit for you first.
Body Sugaring
What is body sugaring?
Body sugaring is a method of hair removal using a simple sugar paste that's molded onto the skin and removed in the natural direction of hair growth.Unlike traditional waxing, sugar paste doesn't need to be applied hot and is designed to adhere primarily to the hair rather than live skin. For many clients, that means a gentler hair-removal experience with less irritation.
How long should my hair be before a sugaring appointment?
Aim for about two weeks of hair growth, or roughly ¼ inch.If you've been shaving, put the razor down and let it grow. I know. Stay strong. 😂Hair that's too short may not be effectively removed.
Is sugaring less painful than waxing?
Let's be very clear: we're still removing hair from the root, so I'm not going to tell you that you won't feel anything. That said, many clients find sugaring more comfortable than traditional waxing because the paste is removed in the natural direction of hair growth and doesn't adhere to live skin in the same way wax can.Your first appointment is usually the spiciest. Consistent appointments tend to get much easier.
Can I get sugared while I'm on my period?
Absolutely. For a Brazilian sugaring appointment, you'll just need to wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup. You may also be a little more sensitive around your period, so keep that in mind when scheduling if you know you're particularly sensitive. No awkwardness over here. Bodies are bodies.
How often should I schedule a Brazilian sugar?
Most of my Brazilian sugaring clients do best on a consistent 4–6 week schedule.Staying consistent allows us to work with your hair-growth cycles over time and usually makes appointments much easier than repeatedly shaving between visits.
How should I prepare for my sugaring appointment?
Come with enough hair growth for the sugar to grab. Gentle exfoliation in the days leading up to your service can also help, but skip aggressive exfoliation immediately beforehand. And please don't panic-clean, apologize for your body, or feel like you need to “prepare” for me beyond that. I've got you.
How do I prevent ingrown hairs after sugaring?
Consistency matters both in the treatment room and at home.Once the skin has had time to settle after your appointment, regular gentle exfoliation and hydration can help prevent dead skin buildup around the follicle. I'll recommend aftercare based on your skin and the area being sugared rather than sending everyone home with the exact same routine. If you're prone to ingrowns, tell me—we can absolutely build a plan around them.
Buccal Massage + Manual Lymph Drainage
What exactly is buccal massage?
Buccal massage is an intraoral facial massage technique—which is the fancy way of saying, yes, part of the massage happens from inside your mouth. While wearing gloves, I work both externally and internally along the cheeks, jaw and surrounding facial muscles to access areas of tension that are difficult to reach with traditional facial massage alone.
What is manual lymphatic drainage for the face?
Manual lymphatic drainage, or MLD, uses very light, rhythmic movements designed to support the natural movement of lymphatic fluid. For the face and neck, this can help reduce the appearance of temporary puffiness and fluid retention, leaving the face looking refreshed and more defined. And no—harder isn't better here. True lymphatic work is intentionally gentle.
What does buccal massage help with?
I especially love buccal massage for people who carry tension through their jaw, cheeks and lower face.Combined with external facial sculpting and lymphatic drainage, it can help release muscular tension, temporarily reduce the appearance of puffiness and leave the face looking more relaxed and defined. And if you're a jaw-clencher? This one just hits different.
Does buccal massage hurt?
It shouldn't hurt, although certain areas can feel surprisingly tender—especially if you carry a lot of tension in your jaw and facial muscles.Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort level. This is not a “beauty is pain” situation.
How long do facial sculpting results last?
You'll often notice a difference immediately after treatment, especially in temporary puffiness and facial definition. How long that appearance lasts varies from person to person.Facial massage doesn't permanently change your facial structure or remove fat—and I won't pretend that it does. What we can work with is fluid retention, muscular tension and the overall appearance of the face.
How often should I get buccal massage or lymphatic drainage?
There's no mandatory schedule. Some clients come regularly for facial tension and ongoing maintenance, while others book occasionally for relaxation or before a special event. We'll choose a frequency that actually makes sense for you and your goals.
Booking + Policies
What is your cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments changed or canceled within 48 hours are subject to a 50% service charge, and no-shows are charged 100% of the scheduled service. I know life happens—this policy simply protects the time I've reserved just for you.
Do I need a deposit to book?
First-time clients are asked to pay a 20% deposit when booking, which goes directly toward your service total. Returning clients are required to keep a valid card on file.
What if I’m running late?
Please let me know as soon as you can. I’ll always do my best to accommodate you, but appointments that begin late may need to be shortened to avoid running into the next client’s reserved time. Depending on how late you arrive, we may need to reschedule and the applicable cancellation fee may apply.
